Picture courtesy of ActionShooters | Baltimore, Maryland -- The 24rd U.S. Futsal National Championship concluded Sunday, July 12th after four days of intense and exciting competition. The biggest, oldest and most prestigious Futsal competition ended with teams from 11 different states winning medals. "This is great news", said Alex Para, President of U.S. Futsal, "because it not only shows how much Futsal has grown, but how competitive it has become all across the United States". With the growth of Futsal accelerating so rapidly over the last eight years, so has this competition. For the second time, teams from the east coast dominated the competition, with teams from Maryland capturing the most medals, followed by Massachusetts, New Jersey and California. Picture courtesy of ActionShooters | Men's Open competition was won by Safira F.C from Massachusetts, played against the DCFA from Maryland. DCFA. Both teams were comprised of many U.S. Futsal National Team players. Safira F.C. represents the seventh different state association to win the National Title in the last nine years. In the Women's Open category, SM Futsal Club from Maryland won its first title.

BERKELEY, CA - The United States Futsal® Federation is pleased to announce an official multi-year partnership agreement with Nike, the world's leading designer, marketer and distributor of authentic athletic footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories. As an official partner of U.S. Futsal®, Nike will be heavily involved in supporting U.S. Futsal's® Regional and National Championships beginning in 2009. The U.S. Futsal National Championship is the biggest, oldest and most prestigious Futsal event in the country, and will celebrate its 24th anniversary in 2009.
